Jake Paul’s remarkable body transformation from Disney teen star to ripped boxer loved by Mike Tyson as he prepares to take on Nate Diaz
Jake Paul has undergone a series of impressive changes over the past five years, completely transforming the direction of his career.
When he first began creating viral video content on Vine in 2013, the young internet sensation was a mere skinny teenager.
"And so it made sense. Ultimately, both parties are happier after that split."
Coming out the other side of the Disney career in 2017, Paul pressed on with his individual YouTube channel, which today has more than 20million subscribers with more than seven billion views.
He delved into music and created the 'Team 10' brand, which took the platform by storm.
In 2018, his entry into boxing began.
While older brother Logan Paul took the main event stage in a white collar fight with KSI, Jake faced KSI's brother Deji on the undercard.
He won by fifth-round stoppage and then, after seeing Logan turn professional for a rematch with KSI, was inspired to do the same.
Logan has now claimed in Jake’s new Netflix documentary that the sport potentially even saved his life
"It's not easy to be hated by the whole entire world," he said, "It creates a very dark mental place."
"Both my dad and I felt worried for my brother's life. Jake's always been pretty emotionally unpredictable and volatile.
"There was a point where we were both legitimately concerned that Jake was going to kill himself. He needed purpose and I didn't know what he was going to do. What's he good at?"
Paul made his pro debut with promoter Eddie Hearn, facing KSI's friend and training partner AnEsonGib in Miami.
Despite many believing Gib would provide him with a challenge, Paul scored three knockdowns and a first-round stoppage win.
He next moved to Triller for a second-round knockout of former NBA star Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson's undercard, and then KOd ex-MMA fighter Ben Askren inside one round.
Following a switch to SHOWTIME, Paul boxed Tyron Woodley twice, KOing him in their rematch after a decision win first time around.
In 2021, for the Askren and Woodley fights, he earned around $40million, according to Forbes.
"I'm doing thousands of push ups, abs every day, neck exercises... I'm boxing, hitting the heavy bag, hitting the speed bag, I'm sparring 2-3 times a week against world champions, I'm doing yoga.
"I'm eating chicken and vegetables and cutting out all the bad stuff.
"I'm completely sober and I'm only allowed to have sex once a week!"
Paul has caused a stir in the fight sports world by calling out big names such as Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez.
And Paul told talkSPORT about Canelo: “Anything is possible – my goal is to become a world champion to laugh and say I did it.
"Ultimate fight would be against Canelo.
"Billy Joe Saunders got embarrassed… if I saw any of those guys (BJS or Avni Yildrim) in the street, it wouldn’t be pretty."
Paul also made headlines for his clash with Floyd Mayweather in 2021.
The YouTuber sparked a brawl with the boxing legend, ahead of his exhibition with Logan, by snatching his hat.
He has won over some of boxing's big names though, especially Mike Tyson.
"He did more for boxing than some of the champions did," Tyson said.
"We got to keep this guy bright because he’s going to save boxing – as long as he continues to fight.
"He got the light, you know what I mean? He’s touched. He got the light."
Now, inside the ring, Paul faces a new test yet as he looks to bounce back from his first defeat - a split decision loss to professional boxer Tommy Fury in February.

To do this, he is first taking on Diaz before aiming for a rematch with Fury in the coming months, though that will depend on the outcome of Fury's October 14 clash with KSI.
What is for sure if that the 26-year-old will be in immense shape for the bout yet again - a far cry from the skinny physique of a Disney teen star five years ago.
