‘We’ll get you in trouble’ – Peter Wright hilariously delivers cheeky Christmas dinner plans

Peter Wright was in fine Christmas spirit as he cracked a bird-related joke on talkSPORT after his World Championship second round win.

'Snakebite' scraped a 3-1 win over Wesley Plaisier on Tuesday night at Alexandra Palace, booking his place in the third round.

He joined talkSPORT's Sports Bar on Tuesday night to reflect on his narrow victory - but the focus of the conversation with Jason Cundy and Jamie O'Hara soon turned to talking about Christmas.

"I've got to put a 23 foot Christmas tree up by myself and then cook for 13 people," he said when quizzed on his festive plans.

Asked what he was cooking and what vegetables, Wright said: "We have all the veg. Brussels sprouts with bacon in butter with a bit of maple syrup.

"I've done the red carrots with cinnamon and stuff like that."

But it was a cheeky follow up question about his chosen Christmas dinner meat that had Wright, Cundy and O'Hara chuckling.

"When you wake up in the morning, do you stuff the bird?" Cundy said before wheeling back in his chair and giggling.

Laughing, Wright said: "The bird is already stuffed from the night before!"

'Snakebite' wasn't done there with the bird-related jokes though.

"Be careful Pete!" O'Hara jokingly warned.

"We'll get you in trouble Pete!" he added.

Wright will face Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena - who knocked out James Wade - in the next round at Ally Pally.

Asked what he thought of his comeback victory that has kept his hopes of a third world title alive on Tuesday, he smiled: "What do you think I thought of it?

"I got away with it, it was terrible.

"I'm disappointed for my fans, the way I played, but at least I'm through to after Christmas now."
