‘Sick horrible human’ – Darts star subjected to vile abuse after bursting into tears on stage

The depths trolls will plunge on social media show no bounds as darts star Ricky Evans has shared disgusting abuse he received on Instagram.

The Kettering-born star recorded one of his biggest scalps on Friday night at the European Darts Trophy.

He downed the legendary Raymond van Barneveld 6-4 before bursting into tears on stage.

The 34-year-old had just lost his sister Elisha at the start of the month, and dedicated the win to her.

However, returning to the oche on Saturday night, he lost 6-1 to fifth seed Dave Chisnall.

And after the result he received some horrendous abuse online.

Posting a screenshot on Instagram to his 131,000 followers, he shared a screenshot of a message.

There a user had called him a ‘fat p****’ and called him as ‘useless as his dead sister’.

Writing over the message, he captioned it: “You sick horrible human being. I know I’m fat but the rest wow!!!”

At the start of March, Evans revealed the loss of his sister on his Facebook page.

"My beautiful little sister Elisha... I love you so much,” he wrote. “I'll always be your best friend."

Ahead of the win over ‘Barney’ he wrote on Instagram: "All set and ready for tonight’s match. This one’s for you sis.”
