Rod Stewart lifts lid on involvement in hilarious Scottish Cup draw in 2017, which went viral due to musicians drunkenness, after Champions League mix-up on Monday

After the Champions League draw didn’t go to plan on Monday, many were calling for Rod Stewart to be tasked with the job next time after his iconic involvement in the Scottish Cup draw in 2017.
And now the musician has lifted the lid on what really happened that day, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT.
The video of Stewart went viral after he hilariously drew out the balls with elaborate dips into the pot and bingo-style number calling.
And the 76-year-old admits that his actions that day may have had something to do with the rum he was drinking beforehand!
“Pre-draw, well, I like to go and have a drink,” Stewart told talkSPORT.
“So, I think, on this particular occasion, I may have just had too much to drink.
“Although I don't really look drunk - I didn't fall over or anything – but, to be honest, I did get stuck into a few Bacardi and Cokes!
The result of the first Champions League draw had to be scrapped after a mix-up involving Manchester United and Liverpool.
The debacle led to an apology from UEFA, who blamed the problems on “the software of an external service provider”.
And, whilst many were amused by the confusion, Stewart insists that the Scottish Cup draw that he and Alan Stubbs were involved will never be beaten - even if the FA officials weren’t too happy about his level of drunkenness...
“Is this a new thing? Whether it was I don't know - I just went, ‘Eeee! [mimes elaborately putting hand into pot]’.
“[No draw] will ever be as good as this one because this went all around the world! It actually did Scottish football a bit of good.
“A lot of the officials didn't like it too - ‘he's drunk’ - so what!”
