Arsenal will need to bounce back swiftly from their Carabao Cup heartbreak when they return to Premier League action against Burnley.

The Gunners missed out on their last opportunity to win silverware this season by falling to a 2-0 semi-final second-leg defeat to Liverpool on Thursday.

However, finishing in the top four and returning to the Champions League would still represent a successful campaign for Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta's side are just two points behind fourth-placed West Ham with two games in hand over the Hammers starting with facing Burnley.

Arsenal v Burnley: What has been said?

Arteta was quizzed on whether the defeat to Liverpool affects the mood at the club.

He said: "I am extremely proud of how our supporters have tried to help the team, the momentum that we have created.

"Because I know what those players have done to play to tonight - five or six of them haven’t had any training sessions - and they were still willing to compete, and the way they competed against this team is in my opinion remarkable.

"So I will try to use that in a positive way, to use it towards Sunday."
