The Premier League title race has had an injection of life with Liverpool’s nervy 3-1 win over Crystal Palace sending a warning shot to leaders Manchester City.

A controversial late penalty from Fabinho ended any hopes of another ‘Crystanbul’ Palace comeback, despite all signs pointing towards an upset for Liverpool.

• Jurgen Klopp’s men started the game in utterly dominant fashion, breezing to a 2-0 lead with some sumptuous football at Selhurst Park.
• Some magic from Andy Robertson teed Virgil van Dijk up for a bullet header from a corner with eight minutes gone.
• Another fabulous cross from the Scot saw Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continue his goal-scoring return to the side, collecting the ball at the far post and steering it brilliantly past Vicente Guaita.
• The deficit was halved when Odsonne Edouard scored ten minutes into the second half
• But Liverpool wrapped up the three points as Fabinho slotted home the late penalty.
• The spot-kick was awarded in controversial circumstances after VAR told Kevin Friend to review a collision between Diogo Jota and Guiaita.
