Victor Lindelof’s home broken into during Brentford game with family forced to hide from thieves, as Ralf Rangnick reveals Manchester United defender will miss West Ham clash – and Jadon Sancho doubtful too

Manchester United have confirmed that Victor Lindelof had his house broken into while playing against Brentford, with his wife and children forced to hide from the attackers.
Lindelof’s family have since returned to Sweden and were shaken but fortunately left unharmed.
The club have released a statement saying the break-in occurred whilst Lindelof was away playing against the Bees on January 19.
"We can confirm that a break-in occurred at Victor Lindelof’s house during the away game against Brentford,” the club said.
“His family, who were at home at the time, were unhurt but clearly shaken.
"This was a distressing experience for them, and for Victor when he learned of it after the game, and the club is providing them with our full support.
“We encourage anyone with information about the crime to contact the police."
Lindelof’s wife, Maja Nilsson Lindelof, released a statement on Instagram saying that she managed to lock herself and her children in a room before the break-in.
“During Victor’s game this Wednesday night we had a break-in at our house in Manchester,” she said.
“I was home alone with both the kids but we managed to hide and lock ourselves in a room before they entered our house.
“We are okay under the circumstances but it was obviously a very traumatic and scary moment for both me and my little kids.
“We are now in Sweden and are spending some time off with our families.”
United manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Lindelof will not be available for selection against West Ham this weekend, and Jadon Sancho will also be out due to a personal matter.
Lindelof has had a difficult winter, having also suffered troubling breathing problems against Norwich City in December which provoked an early substitution and checks on his heart.
This is the second event to happen to a footballer in Manchester this season, with Man City’s Joao Cancelo suffering facial injuries during an assault at his home on December 30.
