Gonzalo Higuain set for Arsenal? Napoli to move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi if in-demand striker leaves this summer

Napoli are ready to swoop for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi - if Gonzalo Higuain leaves for Arsenal or Juventus.

Higuain has been heavily linked with a move away this summer after scoring a record-breaking 36 Serie A goals last season.

Arsenal and Juventus are both interested in the 28-year-old but as of yet neither club has made a formal approach.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are drawing up a contingency plan in case they are forced to sell Higuain.

The Italian club are keen on Icardi, who they believe can be snapped up from Inter Milan for around £40million.

The 23-year-old has already been linked with several other sides, including Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
