Video: Arsenal Ladies defender Alex Scott scores shocking long-range own goal against Chelsea Ladies

Alex Scott and Sari van Veenendaal may want to look away now.

The Arsenal Ladies duo both played a part in this calamitous own goal in their win over Chelsea Ladies. 

Scott, a 31-year-old right-back who has starred for England for over a decade, overhit a backpass from the right-hand touchline, around 40 yards from goal. 

As a bouncing ball sped towards goal, goalkeeper Van Veenendaal miscontrolled as the ball was out of reach and it bounced over her foot. She chased it but it was too little, too late, as the ball rolled into the back of the net - see below.

Luckily for Scott and Van Veenendaal, the Gunners were 2-1 victors and the former later tweeted (see below the video).
