West Ham’s Declan Rice a £100m player ‘IF he can add more goals to his game’ like he did in FA Cup win over Kidderminster

West Ham can command a £100million fee for star midfielder Declan Rice, if he can add regular goals to his game.
That’s the opinion of talkSPORT host Tony Cascarino who believes that Rice’s goalscoring exploits in a 2-1 FA Cup win over Kidderminster were far from flash in the pan.
England regular Rice was able to practice the attacking side of his game against the sixth tier side, regularly given time and space on the ball thanks to Kidderminster’s early opener.
Coming on at half time, the 23-year-old made his way into the opponent’s penalty box on multiple occasions, before firing in a dramatic stoppage time equaliser to take the game to extra time.
The goal was Rice’s fourth of the season in all competitions, equaling his assist total, but Cascarino thinks more goal contributions will soon be on their way.
“He’s in the scapegoat position,” Cascarino said. “When he plays a holding midfielder role where there’s no assists and goals then people always say ‘well how can you pay £100million to buy a player who doesn't contribute to goals?’
“But he’s very good at doing that, I’ve had this conversation with [West Ham coach] Stuart Pearce, I think there’s goals in Declan Rice.
“I’m not saying that because he scored against Kiddiminster, he’s got a yard of pace that very few midfielders can stay with, so he’s going to have to break in.”
Despite the opposition, Rice’s equaliser that helped West Ham into the fifth round was one of the best efforts of his career.
A clever one-two with Pablo Fornals saw Rice take two opponents out of the game, before he jinked into the box and finished brilliantly.
Cascarino compared Rice’s play to other England midfield greats, explaining why he could soon join an exclusive list of just six footballers to be sold for over £100m.
The former Republic of Ireland striker explained: “Steven Gerrard was great at breaking in from the midfielder position to the forward lines very quickly.
“Wasn’t as good as Frank Lampard, and Frank Lampard did that sort of thing, Declan Rice can do that, he can defend for you, he can win the ball, the simple things.
“And he can get you goals, I think that’s where you can say, is he a £100m midfielder if he adds goals to his game? I would say definitely yes.”
