Mohamed Salah's stunning Liverpool goal record could see him challenge Sir Kenny Dalglish's legacy to become the club's greatest ever player.

Speaking on talkSPORT, lifelong Red Tony Cascarino said there is a serious chance the Egyptian can push the iconic former No.7 for his title as Liverpool's 'king' - but only if he stays at Anfield for 'another three years'.

With one Premier League title, one Champions League and two Premier League golden boots, Salah has undoubtedly proven himself to one of the club's best players.

In fact, his strike in the Reds' victory over Norwich saw the Egyptian star reach a landmark 150 goals for the Merseyside club.

Already in the club's list of all-time goalscorers in their history in tenth place, Salah is now one more goal away from equalling ninth place Harry Chambers' record of 151 goals for the Reds.

Given the form he has shown since signing from Roma in 2017, and is still showing now, many Liverpool fans are concerned about his contract situation.

Salah deal expires at the end of the 2022/23 season and he is yet to agree to new terms with the club.

Should both parties come to an agreement, then Salah will have the opportunity to continue his legacy at Anfield, and one that could rival Dalglish's, Cascarino believes.

"Mo Salah is at the best club for him, he's going to play his best football, in my opinion at Anfield," the talkSPORT pundit and former Chelsea striker said on Weekend Sports Breakfast.

"The way the manager plays, the players that he's got alongside him that make him fundamentally a better player, because Mo is a talent, a huge talent, but I think everything he thinks he can be, and be challenging the likes of King Kenny as one of the greatest players to ever play for Liverpool.

"That's how good Mo is. Kenny did it over a longer period and they won a lot of first division titles, so it's an ask, but Mo can easily achieve that if he stays another three years at Anfield and Liverpool are still challenging and winning.

"He has to try and win the Ballon d'Or [as well], it's become a very important trophy because [Cristiano] Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have dominated it.

"Can he go and do two out of the next five years of being the Ballon d'Or winner? I think he can achieve that at Liverpool.

"I think he moved elsewhere, lots of clubs haven't got the infrastructure of what Liverpool's got for that team to play the way that suits Mo Salah.

"With [Luis] Diaz coming in, again you're looking at forwards that fits into their style, the way they play."
