Proof Arsenal are signing the new Robin van Persie?

The January transfer window is upon us and reportedly Arsenal are set to bid for Schalke's Julian Draxler, with a view to converting him from an attacking midfielder to a striker.

Arsene Wenger previously oversaw Robin van Persie's progression from a winger/attacking midfielder into the Premier League's most lethal striker and believes the highly rated Draxler has similar potential.

But that isn't the only similarity with the Gunners' former attacker.
