Boxing promoter Ben Shalom has revealed Kell Brook's victory over Amir Khan was a huge pay-per-view success.

Britain waited a decade for the grudge match and it did not disappoint, as Brook delivered the goods with a stunning TKO after six spectacular rounds.

With both former champions past their prime and no prestigious titles on the line, many questioned whether the fight came too late in their careers to generate interest.

However, Shalom insists viewing figures make it biggest fight outside the heavyweight division in 15 years.

The BOXXER promoter told White and Jordan on talkSPORT: “It looks as though it has been the biggest event outside the heavyweight division that Sky have done on box office.

“Probably the most significant event for them in British boxing since Froch vs Groves.

"It’s a monster and it’s still growing. People are still buying it and repeatedly watching it.

"It was such a spectacular vision on television when you watch the ring walks back and the main event back.

“It was incredible. The numbers are special and very close to AJ [Anthony Joshua] figures.

"Anything outside the heavyweight division that Sky have done in the last 10 to 15 years doesn’t come close."
