‘Mikel Arteta, I was very wrong about you’ – Arsenal fan sends apology to boss after closing in on Premier League top-four spot with dramatic win over Wolves

One Arsenal fan was amusingly forced to apologise to manager Mikel Arteta on talkSPORT following the Gunners’ huge 2-1 win over Wolves on Thursday.
Arsenal staged a late comeback against their top-four rivals to dramatically take the impetus in the race for Champions League football.
Hee-chan Hwang had capitalised on an early error from Gabriel Magalhaes to give Wolves a tenth minute lead at the Emirates Stadium, and the away side had a number of chances to add to their tally.
However, Nicolas Pepe’s spin and finish with eight minutes to play was followed up by a stoppage-time winner from Alexandre Lacazette, with his effort going in off Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa, to drastically lift the mood in the red half of north London.
Arsenal are now a point from fourth-placed Manchester United, but have two games in hand over the Red Devils in the race to return to Europe’s top tier competition and the riches that come with it.
One Arsenal fan, Richard, phoned into talkSPORT following the victory to admit he's got it wrong with Gunners boss Arteta.
“We were awful [at the start of the season], we were bottom,” Rich explained on Thursday night's Sports Bar.
“But I would say, with what’s going on there, look at the natural progression of Arsenal, the young players are coming through, his selection.
“I didn’t agree with him buying [Martin] Odegaard, but he’s turning Odegaard into a good player, I didn’t agree with him buying that goalkeeper [Aaron Ramsdale]…"
Sports Bar host Jason Cundy then interjected: “Have you phoned up to apologise, Rich? Do you want to say sorry now?”
“I was wrong and we can get fourth,” Rich admitted. “I was wrong, I can admit I was wrong.”
After some more persuasion from Cundy and fellow host and ex-Tottenham man Jamie O’Hara, Rich then made the full apology.
“If you’re listening Mr. Arteta, I was very wrong about you,” he said.
Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour are the most lethal strike force on British radio.

“If I’d have had my way, you’d be back with Pep Guardiola [as his assistant at Man City] where I thought you belonged!
"I hated your team selection, I hated that you drove out some of players you did, but I was wrong about you and I’m sorry.”
“Well done Rich, do you feel better?” Cundy asked.
“No," he laughed. "But you do!”
