‘Hello from a finished player’ – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sends message to critics as ex-Arsenal ace stars for Xavi’s Barcelona in El Clasico

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent a message to his critics after scoring twice for Barcelona in their 4-0 El Clasico win over Real Madrid.

Aubameyang continued his brilliant form for the Catalan club, scoring nine goals in his last nine games for Xavi’s side.

His switch from Arsenal to Barcelona appears to have benefitted both clubs, in a rare move that has been good for everyone.

Aubameyang looks revitalised as a player, and has already scored more for Barca than he did for the Gunners this season.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side look completely different now the 32-year-old is away from the club and look favourites to get top four.

There was plenty of criticism for the Gabon International for the form he showed this season in an Arsenal shirt and he had a message to those people after El Clasico.

Sharing a picture of a Dragon Ball Z character, who inspired his goal celebration, he wrote: “Hello from a finished player.”

Xavi’s Barcelona looked a completely different side to the one he took over earlier on in the season.

It pushed them up to third in LaLiga and three points behind second placed Sevilla, with a game still in hand.

"We have worked hard for these results. But we didn't expect to be so superior in their stadium," Xavi said in his post-match interview.

"We expected a more open game. I am very happy."

"We have to keep working. It's not a trophy. We have to be humble," Xavi added.

"We'll celebrate today and then we have to rest and think about Sevilla. It's three more points.

"I don't think it will give us enough to win LaLiga, it's very difficult. But today is a great kick in the teeth [of the league leaders].

"First [we'll focus on staying in] the Champions League places and then we'll see. This [win] strengthens the project. We haven't achieved our objectives yet. We have to keep going."
