Arsenal transfer news: Gunners given hope with news Alexandre Lacazette WILL be allowed to leave Lyon this summer

Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their search for a new striker.

Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, and long-term Gunners target, will be allowed to leave Lyon this summer, talkSPORT understands.

Wenger is desperate to add another top quality striker to help spearhead a title challenge this summer and has earmarked the French hitman as a viable option, making him their top priority after being snubbed by Jamie Vardy before Euro 2016.

Arsenal are expected to bid again for Lacazette following an initial bid of £29m was rejected, with Lyon insisting the French international is not for sale. West Ham were also snubbed earlier in their summer with two failed bids for the Lyon academy product.

It appears the Ligue 1 side’s hierarchy are keen to spark a bidding war for Lacazette who failed to make the French squad for Euro 2016 and will look to replace him with Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder who has also been attracting interest from a host of Premier league clubs.
