The second-half of the Old Firm Derby between Rangers and Celtic was delayed for five minutes after a glass bottle shattered in Joe Hart's penalty area.

The former Manchester City shot-stopper flagged up the smashed bottle as his side ran back out onto the Ibrox pitch, with groundsmen required to come and clean up the potentially hazardous glass.

Celtic rejoined the fray 2-1 up in Scotland’s biggest derby, with goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers wiping out a third minute Aaron Ramsey opener.

talkSPORT's in-ground correspondent David Tanner described the scenes as "utter madness," with the game later resuming after a lengthy delay.

“The game had a five minute delay in restarting," Tanner explained.

"Joe Hart complained that something had been thrown at him and it turned out that it was a beer bottle.

"About 20 Rangers staff had to go on and pick up all the shards of glass, hopefully all the shards of glass, from in and around the six yard box - utter madness."

Hart went on to show the bottle wasn't a distraction, making one huge save on Fashion Sakala before his opposite number, Alan McGregor, did even better with a goal-bound Liel Abada effort.

Those saves made sure the game finished 2-1, giving Celtic a commanding Scottish Premiership lead of six points with six games to go.
