Celtic have extended their Scottish Premiership lead to six points with six games to go thanks to a dramatic 2-1 Old Firm Derby win over Rangers.

The Bhoys came from behind to beat their foes for the first time since 2019 after a fast start saw two goals in the opening seven minutes of the match.

Wales star Aaron Ramsey got the game off to a flyer with a third minute opener, guiding in a pull-back from the ever-dangerous Ryan Kent to send Ibrox wild.

However, it wasn't long before league-leaders Celtic quietened the ferocious home crowd when Tom Rogic steered in a simple rebound after Alan McGregor parried a Reo Hatate shot directly into his path.

With the score tied again after just seven minutes, both rivals began to find their rhythm, but it was Celtic who best mastered the end-to-end affair.

Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers was first to react to a loose ball just before the break, pouncing as Rangers failed to clear a free-kick, and socred the game-winning goal.

And talkSPORT reporter David Tanner explained just how big the win could be.

“The winner of this season’s Scottish Premiership will enjoy automatic qualification for the group stages of the Champions League," he said.

The second 45 was delayed when former Manchester City man Joe Hart had to deal with a smashed bottle in his goalmouth, but that didn't stop him from playing a crucial role in the huge victory.

Both Hart and opposition keeper McGregor made stunning stops to keep the second period scoreless.

Celtic now have a commanding lead as they look to take the league title back from reigning champions Rangers who, last season, ended the Bhoys' nine-season streak.
