Ex-Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, Steve McClaren, Mitchell van der Gaag and former Chelsea defender Winston Bogarde – possible backroom staff to join new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag is set to shake up his backroom staff, which could see Steve McClaren and Robin van Persie make a return to Manchester United.
The Ajax boss has been confirmed as the Red Devils new manager, and will take over from Ralf Rangnick, who is set to move into a consultancy role at the end of the season.
Ten Hag, 52, has signed a three year contract with the 20-time league champions, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
His track record in Amsterdam since being appointed as their manager in December 2017 is excellent, having won two league titles, two Dutch cups, and reached a Champions League semi-final in 2019.
Another title could soon follow too given his side lead PSV Eindhoven by four points with five games to play in the Eredivisie.
But the task he has at Old Trafford will not be an easy one given the club's current predicament.
Manchester United have not won a trophy in five years, and have not won league title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
Their fall from grace was highlighted on Tuesday night as they were humiliated by fierce rivals Liverpool.
They lost 4-0 at Anfield, following on from a 5-0 reverse at Old Trafford earlier this season.
The task ahead is sizeable, and there is a lot of work for Ten Hag to do to help the club return to their former glory.
One thing that could help him succeed is his backroom staff but who might be in it? marvelbet369.com takes a look.
The 48-year-old is currently one of three coaches working immediately under Ten Hag.
The former Barcelona and AC Milan right-back has been an assistant at Ajax since July 2019, and prior to that he was a coach of the club's Under-21s.
He also took charge of the first team for 10 days before Ten Hag arrived, before resuming his role with the youth team until June 2019.
The Dutchman is known by most in England for an infamous spell at Chelsea where he refused to take a pay cut to leave the club, playing just 11 times in total over a four-year period.
Bogarde is now a coach and, similarly to Reiziger, he previously spent time in the club's youth set up.
From 2017 to 2020 he was one of the coaches with their Under-21s, before moving up to the first team.
Ten Hag has previously praised his 'attitude' and 'winning mentality'.
In 2022, he was accused of sexual harassment, but the club concluded that it was 'a private matter' and no further action was taken.
The third and final current coach under Ten Hag is Van Der Gaag who has spent time as a manager with various sides in Netherlands and Portugal.
He spent time with Primeira Liga club CS Maritimo from 2008 to 2010 rising from the 'B' team to the senior squad.
Belenenses were his next club for one season, before he then took a two-year break, and then returned to the Netherlands from 2015 to 2019 with spells at second division sides Ermis Aradippou, FC Eindhoven, Excelsior and NAC Breda.
The 50-year-old joined Ten Hag in 2019 and, according to reporter , is 'ready to be part of the coaching staff' at Man United and this could escalate in the coming days.
The 42-year-old Brazilian could prove to be a shrewd appointment by Ten Hag, especially given his history in England.
In Schoenmaker's 18-year career as a fitness coach, he has spent time at Nottingham Forest, Derby, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace.
He also had other spells across Europe at Inter Milan, while he spent time with Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and Twente under Steve McClaren.
Ten Hag already has a relationship with the Dutchman having been McClaren's assistant at Twente for one season.
Currently, the 60-year-old is at Derby County in an advisory role.
But, , the two have spoken together about Man United and the ex-England boss could become Ten Hag's assistant.
The 58-year-old played a huge part in the Red Devils' success from 2007 to 2013 when he was their technical coach.
Currently he's spending time with the Australian national side as one of their assistant coaches.
Meulensteen also knows Ten Hag well and speaking before the appointment, the ex-Fulham manager said his compatriot will need people who understand the inner-workings of Manchester United.
He told Sky Sports: "It’s important for him that he has certain people that he can trust who understand the culture of the club, the identity of the club, where the club has been, where it is now and how it can go back to where it should be."
Former Manchester United striker Van Persie has been sounded out by Ten Hag about joining his backroom staff, has reported.
And given that he has spent three years as a coach with Feyenoord, Van Persie could make the next step in his post-playing career.
However, more recent reports have suggested he is likely to turn down the offer because of family commitments.
One thing that is for certain, is that whoever comes in through the doors at the Aon Training Complex in Carrington alongside Ten Hag, will have a lot of work on their hands to improve this Man United squad.
Speaking on his before the appointment, and whilst some may not arrive, Rio Ferdinand said the likes of Van Persie, Meulensteen and McClaren could help him.
"First and foremost we need to see a change on that pitch, on that training ground," he said.
"Who is he bringing in? We're hearing reports about Robin van Persie, Rene Meulensteen, Steve McClaren.
"These are guys that all understand what it means to be at Man United, all understand the standards that are needed to be successful.
"They know how to win at this club, and they know what's expected, most importantly, at this club."
