Salah switch to Chelsea is done, insists Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted the deal to sign Basel's Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah has been completed.

The Special One has allowed Juan Mata to join Manchester United and Salah has been brought straight in to fill that playmaker role.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has previously told talkSPORT that the Reds were still in with a chance of signing the 21-year-old, after confirming the Merseyside club had been tracking the Basel star for a number of months.

But it seems the Blues have put one over their Premier League rivals, and have snapped up the exciting attacking talent, who clearly impressed the Portuguese coach with dazzling performances against his side in the Champions League this season.

Mourinho said: "Everything is signed and done with Basel subject to the medical [in Switzerland]. We know he is very happy to come.

"He can play right, left or No 10. He's fast, creative, enthusiastic, humble personality on the pitch, works for team."
