Hull City-linked midfielder Lamine Sane joins Werder Bremen

Hull City have missed out on the signing of Lamine Sane, who has completed a move to Werder Bremen instead.

The Senegalese has been heavily linked with a move to the newly-promoted Tigers this summer after falling out of favour at Bordeaux.

However the uncertainty at Hull, who currently have no manager following Steve Bruce's unexpected departure, has allowed Bremen to swoop.

The defender, who has played 187 times in Ligue 1, told the club's official website: "I am very pleased that the deal has gone through.

"I would like to thank Bordeaux for allowing me to make the move and Werder for having faith in me."
