‘Kante had a clause and wanted to go… the others stay with us’ - Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri vows to fight to keep Riyad Mahrez

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has reiterated his desire to keep Riyad Mahrez.

The winger bagged 18 goals last season and he has been linked with a big-money move to Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners are in the market for attacking reinforcements and manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly a big fan of the Algeria international.

However, Ranieri has stressed once again his desire to keep the Algerian after holding talks with Leicester's owners.

"The chairman told me at the beginning when we spoke about the team - we want to keep everybody," said Ranieri.

"But Kante had the clause and he wanted to go, but the others stay with us."
