Arsenal given summer transfer budget of over £200million as five more signings expected, with Premier League stars Gabriel Jesus, Youri Tielemans and Raphinha on wish list

Arsenal aren't wasting time when it comes to getting players through the door ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

And it looks as though both their transfer budget, as well as the calibre of players they're looking to recruit, will surpass the expectations of fans and pundits alike.

Last summer saw the arrival of six new players at the Emirates Stadium - including the likes of now-fan favourites Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White - costing the club a total of £140million.

The Gunners ended up racking up the highest spend of any other side in e Premier League, with Manchester United coming in second with £126m on just three players, as they landed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Now, the Gunners' targets suggest they are set to spend even more as they prepare for next season, with the reporting the north London outfit are expected to splash out on around £215m to tick all the boxes on Mikel Arteta wish list.

Arsenal have already extended Eddie Nketiah's contract and brought in 19-year-old Sao Paulo star Marquinhos for £3m.

But whilst the Gunners' first signing isn't expected to start week-in week-out, their other targets will likely be regulars in Arteta's team.

Fabio Vieira

Anyone with a surname like Vieira will most likely be welcomed with open arms by the Arsenal faithful.

But whilst Fabio Vieira is Portuguese rather than French, like Invincibles great Patrick, it looks as though the FC Porto midfielder will be one of the Gunners' marquee signings this summer.

The 22-year-old's £30million deal with the north London club is as good as done, with the youngster already in London and undergoing his medical.

After recording 14 assists last term in the Primeira Liga - the most in Portugal's top flight - the exciting playmaker looks likely to be the Gunners' next confirmed signing of the transfer window.

Gabriel Jesus

Man City striker Jesus has been heavily linked with the Gunners this summer.

Given Arteta knows exactly how good Jesus can be from the Spaniard's time assisting Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, this deal would certainly make sense as the Gunners look to bring in a new frontman after Alexandre Lacazette's departure.

However, so far, Jesus' price tag has led to a delay in the deal crossing the line. Arsenal had reportedly bid £30m for the Brazilian, but City turned it down, asking for £50m.

But patience may be a virtue for the Gunners in their bid to sign Jesus.

Youri Tielemans

Leicester City fan favourite Tielemans has also caught the eye of Arteta.

The midfielder has just one year left on his deal at the King Power Stadium and the Foxes will likely want a fee for him rather than losing him on a free next summer.

However, so far they've kept their cards close to their chest on his future and haven't updated their original £45m valuation.

In addition to this, it seems the Gunners' move for him could be stalled whilst they wait to offload Granit Xhaka, according to .

Raphinha

Leeds talisman Raphinha had been touted with a move away from Elland Road long before the end of the season.

Even though the Yorkshire outfit ended up securing Premier League survival on the final day, there's always been an expectation from fans and pundits that it's unlikely they'll be able to hold on to him.

The winger is apparently highly admired by the Arsenal hierarchy and the Gunners are reportedly willing to make him their most expensive signing out of their £215million budget.

However, it's not all that simple. Leeds manager Jesse March is set to ask for £60m for his star man, with the Gunners only willing to do so should they shift their club-record £72m non-starter Nicolas Pepe.

But should Arsenal find a club willing to pay the price they'd like for the Ivorian, a move for Raphinha could well be on the cards.

Lisandro Martinez

The Gunners could do with shoring up their defence for next season and their fifth target could well be the ideal candidate.

Martinez, Ajax's 24-year-old centre-defender, has been on their radar for a while, with them having a £30m bid rejected already.

It's understood the Argentinian is keen for a move to London which will aid the Gunners in negotiations.

But given his contract in Amsterdam doesn't expire until 2025, Ajax are likely to want a large fee for their centre-back.

However, if last summer's transfer budget is anything to go by, money may not be an issue in the Gunners getting what they want.
