Gareth Bale’s first touches for LAFC leave opponent for dead as Wales star admits he struggled with heat

Gareth Bale showed flashes of brilliance just seconds into his debut for MLS club Los Angeles FC.
The 32-year-old headed stateside after the end of his contract at Real Madrid.
He penned an initial 12-month deal and has the option to extend that by another year.
Bale joined his new teammates on the pitch after they had beaten rivals LA Galaxy and serenaded the fans with a megaphone.
The Wales international made his debut appearance at the weekend, coming on for the final 20 minutes of their victory over Nashville.
He impressed with his very first touches too, pulling off a brilliant back heel pass.
LAFC won the game 2-1 and maintained their place at the top of the Western Conference.
Bale admitted that he is still getting to grips with life in the MLS, with the heat and humidity something he was struggling with.
Bale said: “The humidity was very difficult, even in the warmup.
“It was something that I'm not used to. You don't really get to see the heat on TV.”
He added: “I wouldn't say [the style of play] is different, it's just getting used to the teams' philosophies.
“We're working on it in training every day. I'm watching extra film on it in terms of before and after training with the coaches.
“It's just trying to get up to speed as quick as I can and when I go on the field, do as much as I can to help the team.”
