Arsenal started the season without a recognised striker on the pitch, choosing to play Alexis Sanchez upfront instead of an unfit Olivier Giroud.

This lack of cover has fans urging manager Arsene Wenger to bring in a new forward, and for much of the summer there has been one player in particular linked with the Gunners.

Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette is regarded as one of the best strikers in European football, and reports indicate Arsenal want to sign him in a £35 million deal.

And it is hard to argue against such a fee, as while the Gunners were being beaten by Liverpool, Lacazette was running riot in Ligue 1.
