Chelsea ‘pressing ahead’ with bid to sign Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana as Todd Boehly prepares £80million package

Chelsea are still pressing ahead with trying to sign Wesley Fofana despite Leicester insisting he is not for sale, talkSPORT understands.
The Foxes aren't keen on letting their centre-back go, who played every minute in seven of Leicester's last 11 Premier League games last season upon his return from injury.
It had been reported that Leicester have slapped a £80million price tag on the France Under-21 international who signed from Saint-Étienne in 2020 for a fee of around £36.5million.
Now, according to talkSPORT's football correspondent Alex Crook, Blues owner Todd Boehly believes he can convince the Foxes to part with their star defender.
As they attempt to comply with Financial Fair Play, Leicester have dropped a few players off the wage bill, but none for any fee and they're yet to sign any senior players.
Fofana, 21, is under contract at the King Power until 2027 having signed a new deal in March.
But should Chelsea meet the Foxes' asking price, this would allow Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to have access to funds to recruit some new players in their effort to better last season's 8th place finish.
It's also been reported that Chelsea are 'working on' a deal to bring in Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries as they go all out to avoid missing out on key targets again.
So far this summer, the Blues have signed centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly to their squad, alongside forward Raheem Sterling.
Meanwhile, as well as Fofana, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes have garnered interest with Newcastle United keen on deals.
