Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea ‘makes sense’ as striker-strapped Blues linked with shock transfer for Barcelona and ex-Arsenal ace

Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The former Arsenal man joined Barcelona in January in a free transfer after falling out with manager Mikel Arteta.
Aubameyang has scored 13 goals in 23 games for Barca, but has falling down the pecking order during the summer following a spending spree.
The Catalan giants have signed superstar striker Robert Lewandowski and also Raphinha from Leeds.
Aubameyang's chances may be limited for the 2022/23 season and journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea are considering the Gabon international as their new striker.
Discussions have started on the player side, but no bid has been made to Barcelona.
Barca also have to offload players in order to register some of their new signings.
New owner Todd Boehly is still looking to bolster the attacking options for Thomas Tuchel following Romelu Lukaku’s loan to Inter Milan.
Raheem Sterling was signed from Man City, but the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have also been linked with moves away.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor believes it makes sense for Chelsea to move for the ex-Arsenal man.
He told talkSPORT Breakfast: “I feel Aubameyang suited Barcelona in a short-term contract. They don’t need him for the long-term.
“They’ve got Lewandoswki, Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres, Memphis Depay. They’ve got so many attacking options, someone has to be sold.
“Especially because they need to register players. Chelsea in for Aubameyang, it makes sense.
“100 per cent it makes sense.”
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has also given his verdict on a potential move to Chelsea for the ex-Gunners star.
The Invincibles hero told talkSPORT: "That could be a good move for Chelsea. He’d certainly bang the goals in. A short-term contract, maybe one year, whether he would take that, I don’t know.
"But we saw what he did at Arsenal when he was banging the goals in, so Chelsea, he’s a proven goalscorer and they need a centre-forward up front, so why not? If he’s available…
"Just don’t give him a contract where he’s on loads and loads of money!"
Another name linked with the Blues is Benjamin Sesko, who has also been a target for Manchester United.
Romano added that the Stamford Bridge club has been in talks with the 19-year-old's agent.
Sesko has 12 goals and eight assists in 39 games for Red Bull Salzburg and has been dubbed as the 'new Erling Haaland', who enjoyed his European breakthrough also with the Austrian club.
