Nottingham Forest are set to play their first Premier League home game in 23 years against West Ham this weekend.

The Tricky Trees got off to a poor start on their return to the top-flight, as they were comfortably beaten 2-0 at Newcastle.

Things aren't going to get much easier for Steve Cooper's men as the Hammers have invested heavily in their squad and have their eyes set on a place in the top six.

But they were easily beaten themselves by Manchester City at the London Stadium on the opening weekend, so they need a win to get their season underway.

The City Ground is sure to be bouncing as the Forest fans prepare to welcome loads of new players to Nottingham after an incredible summer of spending that isn't over yet.

Forest have already signed 14 players but that spending isn't over yet.

New man Jesse Lingard is set to turn out against the side in which he had so much success with during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.

Nottingham Forest v West Ham: What has been said?

West Ham manager David Moyes said:  "It's a big challenge.

"You only need to look at what Fulham have done in their first game, what Bournemouth have done.

"If you had a choice, you wouldn't want to play the newly promoted sides towards the early games of the season."
