Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Napoli for the loan deal of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The midfielder will spend the season on loan at Serie A side Napoli as they hunt down for a replacement for Fabian Ruiz who is set to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.

According to journalist , the terms of the deal will offer Napoli the option to buy Ndombele next summer for £25.3million.

In addition, the Neopolitans will cover the main part of his salary this season whilst paying a loan fee of around £840,000.

The deal represents a good move for both parties with Spurs able to offload the player whilst Ndombele is granted the opportunity to revive his career at a club boasting Champions League football.

It also provides the midfielder with his final shot at impressing France coach Didier Deschamps ahead of the World Cup.

Ndombele has seven caps for Les Bleus but hasn’t been called up for international duty since March 2021.

Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti will be hoping he can help guide Ndombele back to his best form this season

Ndombele joined Spurs from Lyon in 2019 for an initial £55m and scored on his league debut in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

But things quickly deteriorated for the Frenchman and a loss of form coupled with a falling out with manager Jose Mourinho, led the Portuguese to publicly criticise Ndombele's professionalism.

His topsy-turvy spell at Spurs continued with a return to form the following season before losing his place in caretaker manager Ryan Mason’s side owing to 'fitness concerns'.

Napoli will hope they will see the brighter side of Ndombele this season as Luciano Spalletti’s men launch their assault on the Serie A title.
