‘Exciting’ Casemiro is just what Manchester United need as incredible Fred stat emerges and Brazilian prepares to link up with ex-Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane

Brazilian star Casemiro would be an exciting signing for Manchester United according to former England international Trevor Sinclair.
The Real Madrid midfielder is inching closer to a switch to Old Trafford after United this week made a lucrative proposal to the 30-year-old.
The Brazilian international joined the Spanish giants in 2013 and has picked up five Champions Leagues and three LaLiga titles.
Should Casemiro secure a move to Old Trafford he would once again link up with former Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane.
He would also be reunited with Brazil national teammate Fred.
The pair enjoy an incredible midfielder partnership with the Selecao and are unbeaten in games where they have started together.
And former Manchester City winger Sinclair told talkSPORT that Casemiro’s winning mentality and experience at the top level can only benefit a Manchester United lacking those attributes in midfield.
“When you talk about defensive midfielders you’ve got to have more to your game,” said Sinclair.
“Without being disrespectful to Fred and [Scott] McTominay, I feel they lack a little bit of guile, that experience at the top level to affect games and when they’re in tight areas, be able to show that quality and keep possession and get it into the forward players. I think Casemiro does that really well.
“Obviously five Champions Leagues, Brazilian international. He’s got the experience.”
Sinclair also pointed out Casemiro’s exemplary injury record during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu and believes the star would have no problem in coping with the rigours of English football.
He added: “You look at Casemiro, the last three seasons he’s played 30 plus league games. He’s played in all the Champions League games and he’s also not picked up any injuries.
“So you look at the history of him as an athlete and you think he’d be able to cope with the Premier League.
“It’s an exciting signing potentially for Manchester United and definitely what they need. You look at the other clubs, Liverpool have got Fabinho, Manchester City have got Rodri, Chelsea have got Kante and Jorginho."
Casemiro could be unveiled as a Manchester United player when Erik ten Hag’s side take on Liverpool on Monday night - live on talkSPORT.
