Graeme Souness claims ‘lucky’ Casemiro ‘is not a great player’ and believes £70million fee is ‘too much money’ paid by Man United

Graeme Souness believes Casemiro has ‘never been a great player’, claiming Manchester United have overpaid for the midfielder.
United have completed the signing of the Brazil international from Real Madrid for a fee of around £70million.
Casemiro has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old leaves Real Madrid, having won 18 titles in total with five Champions Leagues, three LaLiga titles, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
During his time in the Spanish capital, he regularly lined up alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in midfield.
However, Souness, dubbed Casemiro a 'steady Eddie' and believes he will not add much to the current United midfield.
"He was playing with great players. He’s not a great player. He has never been a great player,’ Souness told .
"I see him as a steady Eddie who will help United be more solid in midfield.
"I don’t think he has got a great range of passing. I don’t think he is going help other people play.
"I think he was lucky to be in that Real Madrid team. I never look forward to watching Casemiro. Benzema, definitely. The other midfield players, definitely.
"I never thought, 'I'm really excited to watch Casemrio play today'."
The Red Devils have paid £60m plus a potential £10m in add-ons for the midfielder who will turn 31 in February, but Souness has been left unconvinced Casemiro will be up to the hype surrounding the player.
"He is 30 years old and it's £70m. Too much money. It is Manchester United all over again," the Liverpool legend continued.
"Manchester United will pay a premium because it is Manchester United and the Premier League and people know it's awash with money. But I don’t see him making them any better when they have the ball."
