‘Can’t help feeling excited by this!’ – Arsenal fans get their hopes up after top target Shkodran Mustafi does not start for Valencia

Valencia started their LaLiga campaign against Las Palmas on Monday, leaving a key player on the bench.

That key player was Germany international Shkodran Mustafi - a top summer transfer target for Arsenal.

Naturally, Gunners fans saw this as positive news, speculating and taking to Twitter to add their thoughts.

The 24-year-old reportedly has a £43.1m buyout clause at the Mestalla and Arsene Wenger has publicly confirmed his hopes of signing Mustafi.

Valencia will be hoping to make a winning start to the campaign, but with Mustafi only on the bench.

Some reports suggest he is not 100% fit, but Arsenal fans will not take any notice of that.
