Exclusive – Mackay casts doubt over Cardiff’s survival chances

Former Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay believes his old side will find it tough to escape relegation from the Premier League this season.
The Bluebirds were hammered 4-0 by Hull City, who were also promoted from the Championship last year, at the weekend, leaving them in 19th position.
They now sit three points from safety, and face a clash with top four hopefuls Tottenham next time out, and the Scotsman admits he is doubtful they will be able to retain their top-flight status.
“It was a disappointing result at the weekend,” Mackay told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “It was a bit of a shock.
“It was always going to be tough [to stay up], to be honest with you, but it has been made slightly tougher.”
