Aston Villa ‘in no rush’ to replace sacked boss Steven Gerrard as right person is needed, Jim White told

Aston Villa are in no rush to replace axed manager Steven Gerrard following Sunday's victory against Brentford.
talkSPORT's Jim White has stated the Villans board are taking their time in finding a new boss as they look for the right person.
The Midlands outfit sacked the Liverpool legend last week following the 3-0 defeat away at Fulham.
Brentford gaffer Thomas Frank is claimed to have been eyed up by Villa.
And former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was also said to be on their list of targets, but it is believed the Argentine has no interest in the vacant position.
Meanwhile the likes of Sporting Lisbon's Rubem Amorim, Sean Dyche and ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery have all been linked.
Immediately after Villa relieved Gerrard of his duties, Aaron Danks was appointed on a caretaker basis.
And he enjoyed a dream first game in charge as Villa hit Brentford for four as they scored three times within the first 14 minutes.
Speaking on talkSPORT's White and Jordan show, White has stated that the club are being patient in their quest to replace Gerrard.
He said: "Aston Villa of course, Steven Gerrard no longer at Aston Villa.
"And of course what happens in football, Aston Villa go out on the weekend and they win and they win convincingly.
"As regard to the search for a new manager, I'm told from the top of the house this morning at Villa, the search is under way.
"But there's no rush, it's the right person, not the first person and that is key."
Commenting on if that's the right strategy, Graeme Souness bluntly stated: "Well that's a given isn't it?"
He then insisted that it would have been hard for Gerrard that Villa looked so good in their first match without him after being so poor with him at the helm.
Souness remarked: "For Steven it's been a difficult weekend for him, because the new manager has not had any time to work with them.
"So it'll be the same group of players playing a similar system I would imagine."
Gerrard recently released a statement following his sacking, where he declared 'it wasn't to be'.
