Laura Woods and Jamie O’Hara clash over Arsenal and Tottenham wins before Ally McCoist steps in to play mediator!

Laura Woods and Jamie O'Hara were involved in an amusing exchange over Arsenal and Tottenham, leaving Ally McCoist to be the voice of reason.

The duo regularly wind each other up over their beloved sides, and they were at it once again - as two friends do - after both teams won at the weekend.

Arsenal breezed past newly-promoted Nottingham Forest with a five-star display to return to the top of the table.

Reiss Nelson came off the bench to replace Bukayo Saka where he was involved in three goals at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Spurs came from 2-0 down at Bournemouth to win 3-2 to stay third to keep the pressure on the Gunners and Manchester City.

Commenting on Arsenal's 5-0 win over Forest on the Sports Breakfast on Monday, Woods spoke of her delight at Nelson's impact from the bench.

She said: "At least it's showing that Arsenal have got some depth.

"[It's a] big concern of theirs, they've actually got people that can come off the bench and have the right attitude to go and try and score."

Not keen to hear too much praise for Mike Arteta's side, former Spurs midfielder O'Hara pointed out the recent Europa League defeat, where he stated: "You didn't have that against PSV."

To which Woods sarcastically replied: "Oh Jamie, are you alright, mate? Do you want to get something off your chest?"

O'Hara responded: "Let's not get carried away, you're playing Nottingham Forest, who have absolutely fallen apart."

Chiming in, McCoist pointed out: "They beat Liverpool the week before."

O'Hara continued: "You're going on like, 'oh all of a sudden Arsenal have got this amazing squad, we've got this squad depth and all that', we all know that Arsenal's squad is a bit thin."

Hitting back, Woods pointed out: "We named one player that came off the bench, got two goals and an assist. It's not bad, is it?"

Not having it, O'Hara said: "You are two injuries away from disaster."

Turning the conversation to Tottenham, Woods commented on Spurs' 'boring' style of play under manager Antonio Conte, which O'Hara has already defended this season.

She remarked: "Shall we talk about Spurs beating Bournemouth - just, or shall we not because it's the most boring football anyone has ever had to endure?"

McCoist was then quick to play the mediator to stop the exchange from erupting, as he joked: "Kids, kids, kids, kids, kids, come on now..."

He then loudly shouted 'CHILDREN' over O'Hara, who tried to insist Spurs' win over Bournemouth was an 'unbelievable result' and a 'tough place to go and get a result'.

As Woods and O'Hara then began to bicker once more, McCoist stepped in again, where he remarked: "I tell you what I will say, listen, I'll say this to the two of you right now.

"I can guarantee you at the start of the season, I did not think we'd be having an argument 13 games into it about your teams that are first and third in the league. I did not think that would be happening."

Looking to have the final word, O'Hara said of Arsenal: "Can someone beat this team?"

Woods then shut down her co-host down in brilliant fashion as she reminded O'Hara of Arsenal's 3-1 win over Tottenham last month.

She simply stated: "Well you couldn't."
