CONFIRMED: Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart joins Serie A side Torino on loan for remainder of the season

Joe Hart has joined Torino on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The England goalkeeper was forced to look for a move away from City following the arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager.

Guardiola selected Willy Caballero as his first-choice 'keeper for the opening three Premier League games of his reign, and the £16million arrival of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona pushed Hart further down the pecking order.

Now the 29-year-old has decided to spend the season in Italy, where he will become the first English goalkeeper to play in Serie A.

England manager Sam Allardyce allowed Hart time away from the England camp this week to resolve his club future before Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Hart told the Serie A side's website, torinofc.it: "Suddenly my career has taken a turn. It was a sign. Torino's offer came in the right moment, in the right manner. I am very excited to test myself in as important and beautiful league as Serie A."

The goalkeeper has been at City for ten years and been at the centre of all their success in recent seasons, including the Premier League title wins of 2012 and 2014.
