Why are Denmark wearing toned-down protest kits at the Qatar World Cup?
The controversial Qatar World Cup is underway and Denmark are making a stand.
The Middle East country has been a contentious choice to host FIFA's showpiece event amongst numerous concerns over human rights and the Danes are set to visually protest.

Many other teams at the World Cup were also set to do something and show their support for the people who have suffered.
England captain Harry Kane wanted to wear a OneLove armband in response to Qatar's stance against the LGBTQ community. However, he was forced to wear FIFA's armband instead.
But Denmark are wearing toned-down kits that pay tribute to the thousands of migrant workers that have been lost building the stadiums and infrastructure for this World Cup.
The Danish football federation promised last year their kits would portray a 'critical message', and they haven't failed on that front.
The Danes have a choice of three kits - red, black and white.
FIFA strictly prohibits kits that have political messages, but there are no words or logos, so no one is breaking any rules here.

But it is the black strip that is the real protest kit.
Hummel, the kit manufacturers, claim black is 'the colour of mourning' and that while they 'support the Danish national team all the way', they feel they have to make a stand against this World Cup.
The Danish FA will also donate money for every goal scored during November to migrant workers - this includes goals scored in Denmark and at the World Cup.
Of course, the DBU's stance hasn't gone down well in Qatar, with the supreme committee rejecting 'the trivialising of our genuine commitment to protect the health and safety' of the migrant workers.

But Hummel and the Danish FA aren't backing down, and you would expect the black kit to be worn at least once for the whole world to see.
No other country at the World Cup is taking such a visual stand against Qatar, but there is likely to be further protests from teams, players and fans.
