Kaka impressed by England’s opening World Cup performance, but says Neymar is ready to steal the show in Qatar as Brazil seek glory

Brazil legend Kaka says he liked what he saw from England in their 6-2 World Cup demolition of Iran.

The former Real Madrid star has also revealed his belief that Neymar will shine in the tournament as the South Americans eye their sixth world title.

England were one of the few favourites to start with a convincing win and sit top of Group B after the first game.

"The game that I watched was really amazing," he told talkSPORT.

"The first game was really good so for now, I think it's one of the favourites. The games that I watched, I think England and France, they are the best so far."

Kaka, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, is also excited to see their star man Neymar feature in Qatar, with the 30-year-old netting twice in the previous tournament.

He is optimistic about what the Paris Saint-Germain winger could do this time round: "Neymar is ready, I think all the players are ready.

"Neymar, he knows his responsibility at this World Cup and I think he's mature, he's ready, he's in a good shape, so we are going to see a very good Neymar performance in this World Cup."

Brazil kick-off their campaign on Thursday evening against Serbia, with Switzerland and Cameroon being their other opponents in Group G.

They will be hoping to avoid a shock in their opener after watching fellow South Americans Argentina lose against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

"It's funny to see that," said Kaka . "It's an alert for us, for Brazilians, for those who haven't played yet.

"It's important to understand what's happening this World Cup, you need to be ready in 90 minutes, 97, because now the extra time is a little bit larger so they need to be ready."

England, on the other hand, are already preparing for their second World Cup match, with the USA being their next opponents in Group B.
