Tottenham transfer news: Five replacements for Vertonghen

Tottenham star Jan Vertonghen has hinted he could exit White Hart Lane this summer if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The elegant centre-back, capable of making a beastly tackle look beautiful, has been a huge hit at Spurs since his arrival from Ajax.

Italian side Roma already appear interested in his signature, which could mean a big-money move is in the offing for the Belgian.

But with Michael Dawson looking increasingly shaky, Younes Kaboul perpetually injured and Vlad Chiriches still settling in in north London, Tottenham will need to ensure they replace Vertonghen with a top class stopper.
