‘Who do you think you are?!’ – Former Arsenal and Brighton goalkeeper Matt Ryan slammed for decisive error that saw Australia sent home by Argentina

Former Arsenal and Brighton goalkeeper Matt Ryan has been slammed for a mistake which left Australia ‘dead and buried’.
The shot stopper's horrendous second half error that saw Argentina’s Julian Alvarez tap-in an absolute gift in a 2-1 defeat.
Ryan received the ball under light pressure in his box before he made the incredible decision to try and dribble past Alvarez and Rodrigo De Paul.
De Paul interrupted his attempt, with the loose ball then picked up by Alvarez who guided it home for the ultimate humiliation.
“Matt Ryan, what are you doing?” said marvelbet369.commentator and former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders. “He tries to beat two Argentina players.
“Who do you think you are? You’re a goalkeeper because you can’t play outfield, what’s he thinking?
“He’s dilly dallying like he’s bored playing in goal. It's a terrible mistake and that’s them dead and buried.
“How does he think he can play out like an outfield player? I think the stadium is in shock at what they’ve just seen, there was no danger.”

Ryan is currently playing club football for Copenhagen in Denmark but has a wealth of Premier League experience.
Signed by Brighton from Valencia in 2017, Ryan went on to amass 124 appearances in the English top flight, which included a loan spell at Arsenal.
It doesn't look like he'll be returning any time soon though after such a bad mistake that could have been the difference in Australia making the quarter-finals.
