Tottenham linked with ex-Man City full-back Pedro Porro, but Premier League side and Sporting Lisbon understood to be apart in valuations for player

Tottenham have reportedly entered negotiations with Sporting Lisbon in their quest to snap up £31million-rated Pedro Porro in January.

Antonio Conte is understood to have identified the 23-year-old as the player to solve his right-back woes to replace Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty.

Spurs got a close hand look at the ex-Manchester City defender earlier this season in the Champions League.

Porro, who never played a single game for Pep Guardiola's side, impressed in both group stage matches against the north Londoners.

And according to , Spurs have opened talks with the Portuguese side over a deal to sign the full-back in the new year.

But Sporting are in no rush to sell Porro, who is tied down at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2025.

However, should Spurs or any other potential suitor look to secure his services, they will only accept offers in the region of £31m.

Spanish news outlet have also commented on Conte's interest in the ex-Girona man.

The report says Tottenham intend to back the Italian in the market.

One of the reasons why is that they are looking to convince Conte to extend his stay at Spurs beyond the summer.

And despite already forking out £15m on Djed Spence in the summer, Conte has maintained that he was a signing made by the club.

AS add that Spurs are unwilling to match Sporting's demands, and are only prepared to fork out between £22m-£26m.

Along with Spurs, it has been claimed that Porro has also been eyed up by Bayern Munich.

But their interest in the player has faded after they brought in Noussair Mazraoui when his contract expired at Ajax.

One-cap Spain international Porro has appeared in 20 games in all competitions this term - chipping in with one goal and a whopping nine assists.
