‘I’d be telling my agent to find me a new club’ – Rio Ferdinand urges Harry Maguire to consider Manchester United exit after Luke Shaw is preferred at centre-back in Wolves win

Harry Maguire should be looking for a new club after being left out of the Manchester United side once again, according to Rio Ferdinand.

The central defender has played a key role for England at the World Cup and returned to Old Trafford brimming with confidence as he looked to have got his season back on track.

However, despite his performances in Qatar, it's business as usual under Erik ten Hag, with Maguire left on the bench during the 1-0 Premier League victory over Wolves before coming on in the 93rd minute.

What made the snub even worse was that Luke Shaw, a left-back by trade, was played in central defence alongside Raphael Varane, showing just how far down the pecking order Maguire is

But while the 29-year-old may be keen to continue fighting for his place, United legend Ferdinand says that the writing is on the wall for him.

Speaking to BT Sport, Ferdinand said: "It raised eyebrows when you saw Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire on the bench - it shows what Ten Hag thinks of those two guys! 

"If I'm Harry Maguire, I'm looking for a new club right now. He's faultless for England. At Man United, it hasn't worked out for him.

"I'd be telling my agent to go and find me a new club where i can play regularly and enjoy my football."
