Hamburg demand £18m for starlet linked to Liverpool and Arsenal

Hamburg have slapped an £18m price tag on star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who has attracted interest from the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has impressed since moving from Karlsruher last summer and has been the one plus point in a troubled season.

Hamburg are fighting relegation from the Bundesliga and may have to cash in if they go down.

Calhanogl signed a new deal until 2018 in February and it did not include a relegation clause - but the club will sell if they do not stay up.

Three unnamed clubs in the Premier League are watching carefully and Hamburg value the Germany-born Turkey international at £18m.

They hope the price will spark a bidding war for the player, who has scored eight in 24 league appearances this term.

Liverpool and Arsenal have previously been linked with Calhanoglu.
