Joao Felix SENT OFF on Chelsea debut for ‘silly’ tackle on Fulham defender Kenny Tete, and actor Hugh Grant even waved him off down tunnel

Joao Felix suffered a nightmare Chelsea debut as he was sent off during the Blues' defeat at Fulham.

The Portugal star, who has joined on loan for the rest of the season from Atletico Madrid, was given his marching orders for a high challenge on Cottagers defender Kenny Tete in the Premier League clash.

"That is a really poor tackle… so, so silly," Lianne Sanderson said on commentary for talkSPORT.

"When you watch it back, it's a really bad tackle. I feel for Graham Potter, it's one step forward then two steps back."

Having made a bright start at Craven Cottage, Felix could face the prospect of a three-match ban, meaning he wouldn't be available until February.

It's the latest in a number of setbacks for Chelsea but the Fulham faithful were in no mood to sympathise.

talkSPORT's Sam Matterface said he spotted Hollywood actor Hugh Grant, a Fulham fan, waving Felix off the pitch from the stands.

And the player's absence could cost Chelsea around £3m.

Given Felix earns a reported £250,000-a-week, Chelsea will have to pay the striker £1m while he sits out the three games.

The red came just over ten minutes after Kalidou Koulibaly levelled the scores after former Blue Willian put Fulham 1-0 up at half time.

But the home side retook the lead when former Tottenham loanee Carlos Vinicius capitalised on some indecisive goalkeeping from Kepa Arrizabalaga to nod the ball into the net on 73 minutes to seal a 2-1 win.

The result sees Chelsea slump to their fourth successive match without a win. The Blues have won just one of their last nine league matches.
