‘He’s under severe pressure’ – Harry Redknapp admits Frank Lampard is feeling the heat at Everton but ‘trying for his life’ to get transfers done

Harry Redknapp admits Everton boss Frank Lampard is under severe pressure heading into Saturday’s crunch clash at West Ham.
The Toffees have picked up just one point from their last six games, leaving them in 19th place in the Premier League table.
Fan demonstrations and alleged threats against board members have put a negative spotlight on the club over the past week as they fight to preserve their top-flight status.
Ahead of this weekend’s tussle against 18th-placed West Ham, Redknapp revealed that his nephew Lampard is under pressure to turn around Everton’s fortunes.
“Frank’s under severe pressure at Everton, “ Redknapp exclusively told talkSPORT. “It won’t be a pleasant place to be stood on that touchline if you’re getting beat tomorrow, that's for sure.
Lampard has made no secret of a need to strengthen his squad as they fight for Premier League survival.
The former Chelsea ace flirted with the idea 1of adding Danny Ings to his squad but was beaten to the line by the Hammers on Thursday as Ings finalises his switch.
Only Wolves have scored less goals this season than the Toffees’ tally of 15 but there is no indication that Lampard will be given the funds to bolster his attack and Redknapp urged the club to back the 44-year-old.

He added: “If the centre forward’s not fit he’s got a problem, He hasn’t got a goalscorer to come of the bench. They don’t look like they’re spending any money in the window, they haven't bought anybody in yet. They’ve got to do something surely and have a go."
Redknapp confirmed he is in regular contact with Lampard and that the Everton boss is working hard to bring in fresh faces despite the club’s lack of movement in the transfer market compared to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.
He continued: “I speak to him, obviously I ring him and see how he is.
“He’s trying for his life to get one or two in. He knows they’re short in certain areas. They were half interested in Danny Ings. You look at these other clubs and look at the money they’re spending. It's incredible.
“Even Forest, look at the players they’ve bought in. They’ve probably signed 25 players since the end of last season. But at Everton, nothing seems to happen there at the moment. They just seem to be plodding along with what they’ve got and trying to get the best out of what they’ve got but they’re short of real quality.”
