Everton and England star Jordan Pickford, David Raya, and title-winner Jan Oblak – Potential replacements for Hugo Lloris as Tottenham plot summer transfer

Hugo Lloris has been Tottenham's undisputible No.1 since he joined the club in 2012 but his time at the top now looks set to end.

The goalkeeper has made 441 appearances for the north London side in all competitions after his move from Lyon.

He has even won the World Cup with France during his time at Spurs, lifting the famous trophy in 2018.

However, Lloris is now 36 years old, and recent errors against Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa suggest he may very well be past his peak.

Spurs are set to formulate a succession plan for their club captain, with a host of names already being linked as his potential replacement.

In recent seasons, Paulo Gazzaniga, Pierluigi Gollini, and, this campaign, Fraser Forster, have all played second fiddle.

Now it appears an usurper will arrive in north London.

But who could arrive to replace Lloris? marvelbet369.com looks at the candidates...

Jan Oblak - Atletico Madrid

The Slovenian has become the latest name to be connected with a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 30-year-old is said to be of interest to Spurs, which is unsurprising given his level of quality.

He currently plays for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, making 378 appearances for them since his move from Benfica in 2014.

Oblak has won La Liga, the Europa League and the Super Cup there, and has also featured 54 times for his nation.

Whilst he may be on Spurs' radar, signing him could prove to be an expensive purchase, with his Atletico contract expiring in 2028.

David Raya - Brentford

Recent reports have suggested Spurs are tracking the Spanish shot-stopper.

He joined the Bees in 2019 and was a huge part of the west London outfit's rise to the Premier League.

After promotion, Raya has kept 14 clean sheets in 43 appearances in the top flight of English football.

Many would argue he is one of the best goalkeepers outside of the traditional big six, and a move to Spurs would most certainly be a deserved upgrade.

Jordan Pickford - Everton

Everton may be fighting for their Premier League survival, but without Pickford it would, arguably, be worse.

The 28-year-old is also first choice for England, having played at two World Cups and the European Championships with the Three Lions.

He could very well be viable option with talkSPORT presenter, and ex-Tottenham star Jamie O'Hara recently backing them to sign him as Lloris' successor.

"We need a replacement for Lloris," he said. "He’s been a great servant to the football club but he does make too many mistakes.

"I think eventually we are going to have to replace him. Jordan Pickford, absolutely. Give me Pickford now.”

Robert Sanchez - Brighton

Like Raya, Sanchez is another one of the Premier League's top goalkeepers not playing for a big-six club.

Should he continue his impressive form at Brighton, he could become an option for Spurs.

He has 26 clean sheets in 83 appearances for the Seagulls, with five of those coming this season.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with him in the past, and the 25-year-old is unlikely to have any shortage of interest in the future.
