‘Squeaky bum time’ – Wrexham co-owner and It’s Always Sunny star Rob McElhenney admits famous Sir Alex Ferguson quote is his favourite football phrase

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has revealed his favourite football phrase since joining the club.
The It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia actor and producer has had a whirlwind few years after purchasing National League outfit Wrexham alongside Ryan Reynolds in 2020.
And the American has experienced quite the culture shock since swapping life in Hollywood to a small town in Wales.
That has included picking up the football lexicon while one particular phrase has caught the eye the most.
McElhenney tweeted: "I think of all the UK terms that I’ve learned over the last few years my absolute favorite [sic] is 'Squeaky Bum Time'"
The phrase was coined by Sir Alex Ferguson when at Manchester United during the 2002/03 Premier League season.
The Red Devils were embroiled in a tense title race with Arsenal, led by Arsene Wenger with the likes of Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Dennis Bergkamp.
Fergie and Wenger had some fantastic battles over the years and that includes off the pitch, as well as on it.
The Scotsman was a notorious user of mind games with his managerial foes and that included trying to get into Wenger's head in the business end of the season back in March 2003.
He said: "They [Arsenal] have a replay against Chelsea and if they win it they would face a semi-final three days before playing us in the league. But then they did say they were going to win the Treble, didn't they? It's squeaky bum time and we've got the experience now to cope."
