Liverpool are years ahead of schedule and CAN win the title, says former Reds hero

Liverpool are two or three years ahead of schedule and could even win the Premier League this year, according to former Kop hero Michael Owen.
The Reds are mounting an impressive and surprising title challenge in just boss Brendan Rodgers' second year on Merseryside, with hopes at Anfield of a first title in 24 years growing by the day, particularly after they beat fierce rivals Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
That result cut the gap on leaders Chelsea, who had slipped up at Aston Villa a day earlier, to four points with Liverpool boasting a game in hand.
But while Owen believes the Blues, who he predicted to win the league at the start of the season, will prevail in the title chase eventually, the former striker sees no reason why Liverpool cannot keep up their challenge.
"They can, they certainly can [win the title]," he told Keys and Gray. "They’re in great form, their manager is fantastic and they’ve got some great players, so there’s no reason at all why they can’t. In the predictions before the season I put Liverpool as coming fourth and got laughed at.
"If you had asked any Liverpool player, manager or fan before the season started, 'would you accept fourth and Champions League football after coming seventh?' They would have all said yes. Brendan Rodgers is two or three years ahead of schedule."
