Tottenham were branded 'shambolic' and 'disgraceful' by talkSPORT host Jamie O'Hara after their Leicester thrashing.

Spurs were handed a huge blow in their battle to finish in the top four after Leicester demolished them 4-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Just days after downing Manchester City, the north London side put on a dismal showing that has left them fifth in the Premier League.

talkSPORT host and former Spurs player O'Hara was furious with the result, lambasting the likes of Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga and calling the defence 'a disgrace'.

He said on air: "It was a shambles. Started the game well, I was thinking 'here we go' after a decent performance against Manchester City.

"Honestly, the back three, it is like Bambi on ice. If [Christian] Romero doesn't play, there is no point in us turning up.

"There is no point us playing that formation if Romero is not in the team.

"Eric Dier, miles off it. Tanganga? I mean how he is still playing for Tottenham I don't know.

"Again, we just let ourselves down. Played really well against Man City, excited about how maybe we can kick on and get back in the top four and get it shoved straight into our faces.

"I like Ben Davies, I think Davies is alright. He is steady, good on the ball, he is experienced. Eric Dier, he does not get tight enough because he lacks pace and is scared about people going past him.

"We played this three at the back and you are playing Tanganga there. I mean he looks like he has got ice skates on every time he's defending. It is embarrassing.

"Davinson Sanchez came on and he looked like he was wearing wellies. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was a shocking performance.

"The problem is, we play Man City. It is a cup final for us, it is a big game. Everyone wants to play well in that.

"You are allowed to not have the ball against Man City, you accept having to sit in, don't concede, play defensive football, Spurs are good like that.

"Soon as we play a team where you have to go and attack, you have to go and win the game, got to be good on the ball, we just look completely out of sorts.

"It is so bad at the back, it is so bad. I am sick of saying this every time this happens. Leicester played really well but Tottenham were a disgrace at the back."

Tottenham took the lead against Leicester but the Foxes came back with a vengeance when Nampalys Mendy scored a screamer to equalise.

James Maddison scored two minutes later before Kelechi Iheanacho netted just before half-time as Harvey Barnes added to Spurs' misery late on.

O'Hara went on to state that his old club Billericay, who he managed for over a year, would have played better.

The ex-Tottenham star added: "I can't get over the defending, it was Sunday league.

"I was manager of Billericay, if I see some of my defenders playing like that, I would whip them off.

"I'd be like 'are you winding me up?' That's non-league. We are talking about the Premier League, here."

Tottenham travel to Italy next to face AC Milan in the first round of the Champions League on Tuesday before hosting West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
