Stefan Bajcetic produced a man of the-match performance as Liverpool defeated Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside derby on Monday night.

The 18-year-old bossed the midfield throughout, and was given huge praise post-match by Reds talisman Mohamed Salah.

Salah and Cody Gakpo were on target, the latter netting his first goal for Liverpool, but it was Bajcetic who stole the plaudits.

"He's a great player and person, he always tries to work hard," Salah told Sky Sports of the youngster.

"Since he started playing for us, he has been our best player maybe so hopefully he keeps that confidence and keeps going," Salah told Sky Sports of the youngster.

Bajcetic played in a more advanced role than usual ahead of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, and the fact he kept out the likes of Naby Keita and James Milner shows how highly Klopp regards him.

The Reds are in desperate need of a rebuild, no more so than in midfield, and there are plenty of youngsters who Klopp could turn to next season, which could ultimately save the club millions.

Tyler Morton

Currently on-loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, the youngster signed a new long-term contract with the Reds in January 2023.

Morton joined Liverpool at the age of seven and made his Under-23s debut in 2020/21.

The 20-year-old scored ten goals for the U18s and U23s in 2020/21 and played a key role as the young Reds reached the FA Youth Cup final.

Having previously been a target for Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Liverpool target Jude Bellingham, he could certainly be given a role in the first-team next season.

Kaide Gordon

Currently recovering from a long-term injury, Gordon is highly rated at Anfield, and enjoyed a dream start to 2022 as he netted against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

In doing so, the winger at 17 years and 96 days, became the youngest player ever to score for the club in the competition.

The now 18-year-old, despite his recent injury setback which has kept him out for a year, still travelled with Liverpool to Austria and Dubai for pre-season and mid-season training camps as he has continued his rehabilitation.

He is certainly one to keep an eye on next season.

Ben Doak

The 17-year-old, who joined Liverpool in a £600,000 deal from Celtic last summer, hasn’t taken long to make his mark on Merseyside.

Making his debut for Liverpool U18s in August last year, the teenager’s first-team bow arrived in November against Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

He then earned a place on the bench for the Reds’ Premier League match with Southampton, before following it up by signing a new deal.

Already being dubbed 'a Scottish Rooney', by former Celtic player Jackie McNamara, he is renowned for his incredible speed, impressive dribbling ability and willingness to directly take on an opposing defender, and is someone who can certainly push for a place in the first team on a regular basis.

Conor Bradley

Bradley may not be one to bolster the midfield, but he could certainly be a long-term option at right-back.

The 19-year-old, who is spending the season on-loan at Bolton Wanderers, has already made ten appearances for the senior Northern Ireland national team - making his debut as a 17-year-old in May 2021.

Bradley, who joined the Reds from Dungannon Swifts in September 2019, made his first-team breakthrough in 2021/22, making his debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Norwich City.

Oakley Cannonier

A 14-year-old Cannonier proudly claims the pre-assist for 'Corner taken quickly… Origi', when Liverpool defeated Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League back in 2019.

Having joined Liverpool as an under-12 from hometown club Leeds United, Cannonier has progressed through the ranks at the Reds' Kirkby Academy, and represented England at several youth levels.

The now 18-year-old, having signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2021, netted a staggering 41 goals in all competitions in the 2021/22 season.

He then made the step up to U21 level, penning a new long-term deal in August 2022, and could be one to step up to first team duties next summer.
